About AED Nexus

Built from experience.
Designed around responsibility.

AED Nexus didn't begin as a software idea. It grew from years of working in CPR training, AED sales, emergency preparedness, and the day-to-day realities of helping organizations maintain lifesaving equipment.

The challenge

Owning an AED is easy. Maintaining a reliable program around it is much harder.

Organizations invest in AEDs because they want to be prepared. But after the AED is installed, responsibility can become fragmented.

Who is inspecting it?
Are the pads and batteries current?
Did the last inspection uncover a problem?
Was it addressed?
Where is the documentation?
When responsibilities change, does the next person know what was done?

These aren't technology problems alone. They're problems of visibility, consistency, accountability, and continuity.

AED Nexus was created to bring those pieces together.

Experience behind the platform

Founded by Gregg Orenstein

AED Nexus was founded by Gregg Orenstein, whose work in CPR education and AED preparedness has provided a firsthand view of what organizations—and the professionals who serve them—face after an AED is purchased.

iCertCPR

CPR, AED, first aid, and medical training focused on preparing people to respond when emergencies happen.

ShopAEDs

AED equipment and supplies that help organizations obtain and maintain the physical equipment behind their preparedness programs.

AED Nexus

The operational layer that helps keep AED programs organized, visible, inspected, and documented after the equipment is in place.

Together, that experience shaped a simple realization: The AED itself is only one part of being prepared.

Our philosophy

Technology supports the process.
People carry the responsibility.

We don't believe software replaces the people responsible for an AED program.

A person still performs the inspection. A person replaces the pads or battery. A person responds when something needs attention. And ultimately, a person may be called upon to use the AED when someone's life depends on it.

Technology should make those responsibilities easier to see, manage, and document—not pretend to replace them.

That's the philosophy behind AED Nexus.

Who it's for

Built for the people who manage readiness

AED Nexus is designed for organizations managing their own AED programs—and for the CPR, AED, and safety professionals who manage those programs on behalf of their clients.

That distinction matters. Many organizations don't want AED readiness to become another responsibility scattered among employees, spreadsheets, calendars, and paper inspection records. They want experienced professionals helping them manage the process.

AED Nexus gives those professionals a structured environment for managing AED programs across the customers and locations they serve, while also supporting organizations that choose to manage their programs internally.

Our mission

Make AED readiness visible, accountable, and continuous.

We believe an organization should be able to answer a few fundamental questions about its AED program:

What do we have?
Where is it?
Is it ready?
What needs attention?
Have inspections been completed?
What was found?
Can we show what was done?

AED Nexus brings those answers together so critical information isn't left to memory.

Why “Nexus”?

A nexus is a connection point.

That's exactly what we believe an effective AED program needs. AED Nexus connects:

People
Equipment
Locations
Inspections
Service needs
Documentation

Not as separate pieces of information, but as parts of one continuous readiness process.

Because preparedness isn't created by simply placing an AED on a wall. It's created by what happens after.

Building a better standard

AED readiness isn't a one-time task.

Our goal is to give organizations and the professionals who serve them a better way to maintain visibility, document the work, identify what needs attention, and keep the readiness process moving.

Not through more complexity. Through better structure.

Technology supports the process. People carry the responsibility.
